Microdermabrasion

Key Benefits:

  • Rejuvenates sun damaged skin
  • Reduces fine lines
  • Minimizes mild acne scarring
  • Lightens age spots
  • Promotes new cell growth
  • Minimize appearance of pores

At Q Medical Spa we use a crystal-less microdermabrasion system that gently removes the outer most layer of skin leaving it supple and vibrant. New Apeel™/Diamondtone removes this layer of skin by polishing it with a diamond cut wand and vacuuming the dead skin in a controlled manner. Removing the dead skin leaves a smoother surface and promotes new cell growth. This treatment is concluded with the application of a soothing mask. Face, neck, décolletage, or hands may be treated.

What is Microdermabrasion?
This is a gradual exfoliation procedure that removes damaged cells resulting from age, the sun, and other heredity and environmental factors. It does not require anesthesia, is not surgical in nature and allows most patients to return to normal activity immediately. It is commonly referred to as a "lunch-time" peel.

Which areas does it treat the best?
Microdermabrasion is used to enhance the appearance of all surfaces of your skin and can be used on all parts of the body. The face and décolletage are the more common areas of treatment.

How long is the treatment?
Each patient treatment will vary depending on the treatment area. The average time is 30-45 minutes, which is why most patients consider this a "lunch-time" peel.

What happens during the treatment?
If this is your first appointment, our skin care specialists complete a skin analysis and suggest a customized treatment plan that may include microdermabrasion, products, corrective skin treatments, or photorejuvenation. Our focus at Q Medical Spa is to customize skin care according to your needs and skin type. We use a variety of skin care lines and body and face treatments that offer aesthetic medical solutions in a spa-like environment.

During your microdermabrasion appointment, we will begin with skin cleansing and review of the areas of concern. We use a "crystal-less" system that does not produce possible harmful inhalants. The treatment feels like a deep exfoliation. It is a dry system and does not use any chemicals, solutions or other products to stimulate a peel. For this reason, microdermabrasion is considered a mechanical exfoliation. This works well for patients that are not able to tolerate other peeling or exfoliating agents. Sometimes a peel or other facial may be recommended as part of your treatment plan.
