It’s that time of year again! After months of snow and freezing temperatures, winter has (almost) left us, leaving an aftermath of dry and itchy skin. The point is, while we may be more than ready to jump right into spring, our skin needs a little more time to adapt. Here are tips to help achieve a healthy spring glow!
Exfoliate
If you aren’t exfoliating, now is a good time to start. Some shy away from aggressive exfoliants during the winter months, in fear that their dry skin will only become worse. But as summer approaches and the humidity is starting to creep up, now is the time to brighten up your skin! Routine chemical peels are a great way to exfoliate and help achieve that youthful complexion we all crave.
Cleanse & Tone
Start with a cleanser that is specific to your needs. I love PCA Skin Facial Wash for a great gentle cleanser that helps to not only exfoliate, but soothe and hydrate the skin. Make sure to cleanse your face in the morning and evening to keep those pores clear.
After you cleanse, use a cotton pad with the PCA Skin Nutrient Toner to help minimize the appearance of pores and boost that glow.
Serum
Serums are a great way to introduce antioxidants to your skin. I always suggest adding a Vitamin C to your skin care regimen, regardless of season. PCA Skin C-Quench antioxidant serum is a great option to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while hydrating and strengthening the skin. The serum has multiple antioxidants and botanicals which offer protection from aging UV rays and other environmental pollutants.
Moisturize & Protect
My all-time favorite moisturizer is Revision Skincare Intellishade Original. This is a tinted moisturizer with broad-spectrum SPF 45 that is formulated to correct, protect, conceal, brighten and hydrate skin. I love it because it leaves my skin feeling moisturized and also gives me a great little glow!
And Don’t Forget!…
Always remember your sunscreen! This is vital in maintaining the health of your skin. Regardless if it is winter or summer, gloomy or sunny, you always need sunscreen. This will help to protect you not only from harmful UVB rays, but also UVA rays. So, if you can find a moisturizer with SPF in it, that’s great! If not, feel free to mix your favorite moisturizer with a touch of sunscreen and apply to your face in the morning. And don’t forget your lips! Supergoop! has a great Lip Screen that provides a clean topcoat with SPF 40 that you can wear with any of your favorite lip colors!
