Now that summer is coming to an end and our daily schedules are more structured, we enter what I like to call “treatment season.”
One of my favorite services that we provide at Q Med Spa is Potenza® microneedling with radiofrequency. One reason I love it is because almost everyone can benefit from this treatment! If you are someone who is experiencing uneven skin texture, scarring, or are looking to combat collagen loss, Potenza RF microneedling may be for you. I am happy to share that this is a treatment with minimal downtime that can be performed on all ages and skin types, at any time of the year.
Why Is RF Microneedling Important?
Collagen is an important component in our skin that provides structure and support. From our mid-twenties onward, studies have shown that we tend to lose 1-2% of our collagen each year. This is why we notice that our skin loses its “plump,” and fine lines and wrinkles begin to form. RF microneedling is a treatment that combats this loss of collagen, making it beneficial for everyone!
How Does RF Microneedling Work?
Potenza uses two types of specific injuries to stimulate new collagen and elastin production in our skin. A mechanical injury is created from the insertion of needles into the treated skin, and then a thermal injury is created from delivering radiofrequency (heat) into the skin. Potenza treatments utilize these two methods to help patients achieve younger, healthier, and smoother looking skin.
How Is RF Microneedling Customizable?
Each treatment and plan of care is personally customized for each patient to address their specific needs. Most patients can expect a minimum of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Final results can often be seen 6 months after your last treatment, with the possibility of collagen production continuing up to 1 year post-treatment.
We often love to combine Potenza RF Microneedling with other resurfacing treatments, such as MOXI® or HALO™ to achieve optimal results. We pride ourselves in taking a comprehensive approach to the services that we provide, and this means offering the best combination of treatments for a unique, personalized, and results-oriented treatment plan.
