What is Microneedling?
Microneedling uses fine needles to create tiny wounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the body’s wound healing response, which stimulates the production of capillaries, elastin, and collagen.
Why has Radiofrequency (RF) energy been added to Microneedling?
RF is the release of energy in the form of electromagnetic waves. These electromagnetic waves heat up the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. Our device can deposit the radiofrequency at customizable energy levels and precise depths. Adding this technology to microneedling causes a significant thermal microinjury, and enhanced coagulation occurs which results in the regeneration of collagen and elastin, improvement of scars, crepiness, skin texture, wrinkles and laxity.
What to Expect with a RF Microneedling Procedure
The Lutronic Genius® microneedling device that we use has the sharpest, thinnest, highest quality needles on the market. Therefore, the epidermis is not destroyed and the downtime with this procedure is much shorter when compared to other more aggressive lasers or peels. You will feel a sensation similar to a warm pinprick throughout the procedure. Numbing and cooling interventions are implemented for your comfort. The most common side effects are temporary swelling, redness, and dryness.
Who is a good candidate for RF Microneedling?
Anyone experiencing some degree of skin laxity, scarring, lines and wrinkles, and/or uneven texture is a good candidate for RF microneedling.
