Hydrafacial® Care Instructions
Before your Hydrafacial® treatment, please follow these instructions:
- Please refrain from these activities within 14 days of your appointment:
- having a chemical peel/Microdermabrasion
- tanning in a tanning booth
- having a “wax” treatment
- Please do not have filler injections within seven (7) days of your appointment.
- If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, you are not a candidate for corrective treatments. However, you may receive Dermaplaning or Microdermabrasion.
- Please refrain from sun exposure for two (2) weeks prior to your appointment. Do not come to the appointment with a sunburn (please let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment).
- Delay use of Retin-A, Renova, Differin, and high percentage glycolic products for approximately five (5) days prior to your appointment. Using any of these products will take the treatment deeper and make your results less predictable.
- Use of recommended home products prior to your treatment will prepare the skin and allow for better treatment results.
These superficial treatments will result in little to no downtime. Treatments may include slight redness, tightness, peeling, flaking, and/or temporary dryness. Makeup use can be resumed the day following the treatment.
After your Hydrafacial® treatment, please follow these instructions:
- You may experience tingling and stinging during the treatment. These sensations generally subside within three hours of treatment.
- Your skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.
- The treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen.
- Avoid the use of Retin-A type products one week post-treatment.
- Aggressive exfoliation, waxing, and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum of two weeks post-treatment.
You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin will feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks. For improved, longer-lasting results, consider take-home products and monthly Hydrafacial treatments.
Client experiences may vary. Some people may experience a delayed onset of the previously mentioned symptoms. Contact us immediately if any unusual side effects occur or if symptoms worsen over time.
