What To Expect During Your BBL Session
One of our experienced aesthetic nurses will perform your BBL treatment. Before beginning treatment, we will prep your skin with a gel and place protective shields over your eyes. Your session length will depend on the scope of your treatment, but most clients can expect to be done within 30 minutes.
During treatment, your provider moves the BBL handpiece over the treatment area. You may feel a warming sensation or slight sting as the device sends light energy into your skin, but this is typically mild and well-tolerated. Before you leave, we will apply a luxurious moisturizer and sunscreen to soothe and protect your skin.
What Is Recovery Like After BBL?
BBL requires little to no downtime, making it an ideal “lunchtime” treatment. Most clients can resume their daily activities, including returning to work and applying makeup, almost immediately.
For the first few hours after BBL, your treated areas may look and feel mildly sunburned. You may also notice that your excess pigment appears darker than before. This process, called peppering, is a natural result of the pigmentation breaking down and being cleared by the body.
The unwanted coloration will rise to the surface and typically slough off within a week. You will also notice an improvement in redness as vascular structures, such as unsightly veins and broken capillaries, are harmlessly absorbed back into your body and cleared away.
Be extra diligent with your sun care regimen to avoid further sensitizing your skin. Wear sunscreen, stay covered, and avoid direct sun exposure for the best results.
Your BBL Results
You will see an appreciable difference in your skin after just one session. Within 2 to 3 weeks, you’ll enjoy notably smoother, clearer skin with a brighter and more even tone.
For best results, we recommend you continue your aesthetic journey with a series of follow-up treatments, spacing them a month apart to allow your skin time to heal. You’ll likely achieve your desired level of rejuvenation within 2 to 5 sessions. Individual results vary, and we recommend ongoing maintenance treatments for optimal results.
