What To Expect During Your HALO Session
Your HALO treatment takes place in an elegant, private setting. On the day of your appointment, your provider applies a numbing cream to your skin about 45 minutes before treatment to ensure your comfort. The actual laser treatment typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.
The HALO handpiece is gently rolled over the treatment area, delivering laser energy to both the surface and deeper layers of the skin. You may feel some heat and slight discomfort, but most clients tolerate the treatment well.
What Is Recovery Like After HALO?
Recovery after HALO varies depending on the intensity of the treatment and your skin’s healing response. Most clients experience redness and a sensation similar to a sunburn for the first 1 to 2 hours post-treatment, followed by mild swelling that may last 3 to 7 days.
Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours and refrain from heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, and other activities that may induce sweating to prevent irritating your skin. Protecting your skin from unnecessary sun exposure is especially important throughout your recovery. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even when you plan to remain indoors!
As the skin heals, the treated areas develop tiny dark spots that resemble pepper or coffee grounds as the unwanted pigmentation rises to the surface. These dots naturally slough off, revealing clearer and more even-toned skin. Your skin will peel and flake around day 3 or 4 of your recovery and may last up to a week.
Your HALO Results
You’ll begin to notice improvements in your skin’s texture and clarity within the first few days, with continued enhancements over the next 2 to 3 weeks. As collagen production increases, you can expect firmer, smoother skin for up to 6 months post-treatment. Most clients achieve their desired results with 1 to 2 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. We recommend booking a maintenance treatment every 12 to 18 months to sustain your results.
How Much Does HALO Cost at Q the Medical Spa?
HALO treatments at Q the Medical Spa are priced according to your particular needs, including the number and size of the areas you would like to rejuvenate and the number of sessions needed to achieve your goals. We provide you with a personalized quote during your consultation.
Out of respect for all our clients, we maintain the same base pricing year-round. However, we do have membership options available. A QVIP membership gives you access to exclusive savings on qualifying medical spa services.

Proper skincare and sun protection can help ensure that your results last several years. We also recommend an annual maintenance treatment to keep your skin looking and feeling its best.
Is HALO safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, we can safely customize HALO for all skin types. However, a thorough consultation is necessary to determine the best settings for your skin.
Is HALO painful?
We apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. In addition to feeling warmth as the device is applied, you may experience a mild prickling sensation similar to a rubber band snap. Most clients tolerate the sensation well and do not describe the treatment as painful.
