What To Expect During Your MOXI Session
On treatment day, expect to be with us for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The actual procedure typically takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete, but the numbing cream needs about 30 to 45 minutes to take effect.
Your MOXI session takes place in one of our private, luxury treatment rooms. Once your anesthetic has successfully numbed your treatment areas, your provider cleanses your skin and places protective shields over your eyes.
The MOXI handpiece delivers quick pulses of laser energy as it is rolled over your skin. Our clients typically report a warm, prickly sensation but find it more than tolerable with the numbing cream.
What Is Recovery Like After a MOXI Treatment?
After your MOXI treatment, your skin appears red and feels warm, similar to a sunburn, for 2 to 24 hours. Most clients can apply makeup and resume their daily activities by the next day, although temporary swelling may persist for the next couple of days. Keeping your skin moisturized and applying cold compresses can help soothe any discomfort and enhance your recovery.
As your skin heals, you may notice small dark dots called “MENDS” (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) where the laser was applied. These naturally slough off over the next 3 to 5 days. To protect your skin and safeguard your results, be sure to avoid direct sun exposure and use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 daily.

Once the mends slough off and the redness and swelling subside, you will see noticeable improvements in your skin’s tone, texture, and radiance. Your results improve over the following weeks as your skin continues to heal and produce collagen and elastin.
For optimal results, we typically recommend an initial series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced about 4 to 5 weeks apart. Regular maintenance sessions can also help you sustain your youthful complexion and improve your skin health over time.
